Texas Master Beekeeper Program

Apprentice Testing will involve in-hive testing.
- Please remember to bring your own bee suit, gloves, hive tool, lighter, and smoker.
- We will provide pine needles for smoker fuel, but if you have a fuel that you are more comfortable using, then please bring that with you as well. Proper clothing is required.
- Any participants dressed in inappropriate clothing (shorts, sandals, etc.), without adequate protective gear, will not be permitted to take the exam.
Advanced & Master Level Testing does not involve in-hive testing, no bee suit or other gear required.

Beekeeping 101 Class
Beekeeping 101 Class for the fall is open for registration now and ready to share!

Registrants have two options – an In Person Class on Oct 3 @ Hardberger Park or an Online, Self-Paced Course. Both options have field days with them, located in Boerne, TX. The link above has all the options for field days and I’ll send a sign up for that as more people start to register. Both classes cover the same material.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension's Second Steps in Beekeeping Virtual Program
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Second Steps in Beekeeping Virtual Program is scheduled and now up for registration! This class is meant for those in their first few years of beekeeping and wondering “what’s next?” Held Oct 15, 16, and 22nd from 6-8pm, we will be covering topics such as:
- How to prepare and get bees through winter,
- What to expect in the spring,
- Honey extraction,
- Best practices for Varroa Mites,
- Other diseases to watch.

Note: Only one registration is required per household. Individuals living in the same household can watch under one registration.
