CCBA Events

The list of events CCBA is holds or supports during each year varies according to the month. The events CCBA is hosting in 2024 are listed below, but please check back regularly as they are subject to change due to factors outside of CCBA control – for example bad weather.

January

  • January 11: Monthly Meeting – Beefy’s on the Green – 6pm

February

  • February 3: Monthly Meeting: Tye Preston Library – 9am

April

  • NO monthly meeting

  • May 18:  CCBA Field Day Saint Abi’s Apiary 10am-3pm.  Club Members Only

    Location: 11571 Farm to Market 32, Fischer, TX 78623.
    Spend the afternoon with Kim Kealiher with owner/operator of Saint Abi’s bees as she performs beehive inspections and answers your questions about beekeeping practices.  This event is for beginner beekeepers who are members of the Comal County Beekeepers Association.
     
    There will be two sessions with 15 members per session. Schedule is as follows:
    First Session
    10am-11am  Apiary Field Inspections
    11am – 11:30am Snacks and table talks
     
    Second Session:
    12pm-1pm  Apiary Field Inspections
    1pm-1:30pm  Snacks and table talks.
     
    Please bring your bee suits/jackets and gloves.  Release of liability must be signed before anyone enters the apiary.
     
    Parking will be at a premium which is why this event is restricted to CCBA members ONLY, we HIGHLY recommend carpooling if possible.

June

  • August 17 : National Bee Day @Tye Preston Library 10-2pm, Open to Public, Honey Judging, Speakers, Demonstrations, Apiary visit
